Overview

Dennis Durocher concentrates his practice in commercial litigation and civil appeals. Before joining Flanagan Partners, he served as an assistant attorney general at the Louisiana Department of Justice, where he defended the state of Louisiana in civil rights and tort actions.

Mr. Durocher holds a PhD in French literature from Tulane University. He received his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he served on the Loyola Law Review and graduated cum laude.

Professional Experience

​

  • Representing, as appellate counsel, local investors in a multi-million dollar real estate dispute.

  • Representing a Fortune 500 company in a negligence claim involving Louisiana tort law and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • Representing the state of Louisiana in a variety of First Amendment, Fourth Amendment, Eighth Amendment, and Fourteenth Amendment cases.

  • Representing good faith possessors in acquisitive prescription/possessory actions under Louisiana’s blighted property/acquisitive prescription statute.

  • Representing a start-up LLC in a copyright-infringement dispute.

  • Representing parties in contract disputes in the oil and gas industry.

  • Representing parties in insurance coverage disputes.
